    PLANNING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING IS CALLED TO ORDER 

    Comment from the Public is requested regarding the following: 

    Consideration of updates to the Zoning Ordinance and code for the City of Johnson, Arkansas. A copy of the updates to the Zoning Ordinance and code will be file at City Hall and will be available for public inspection and review during normal business hours. If recommended by the Planning Commission, the updates to the Zoning Ordinance and code will be provided to the City Council for consideration to be adopted by Ordinance of the City of Johnson.  

    Petition 2019-7: Requesting CONDITIONAL USE of property located at 2050 Main Drive. Requested by Fadil Bayyari, property owner.

    Petition 2019-8: Requesting a VACATION OF UTILITY AND DRAINAGE EASEMENT for property located at 4598 Clear Creek Blvd. Requested by Mary Basset for Eric Musselman, property owner.

    Old Business: 

    Update on Johnson Square road improvement to Johnson Mill Blvd. 

    Update from Zoning Committee regarding the Community Input Meetings held in July. 

    New Business:

    Discussion of the updates to the Zoning Ordinances and code for the City of Johnson. If recommended by the Planning Commission, the updates to the Zoning Ordinance and code will be provided to the City Council for consideration to be adopted by Ordinance of the City of Johnson. Discussion led by Justin Eichmann, City Attorney.

    Curbside Chipping Service

    DETAILS

    Citywide Chipping Service will be available today.

    Limbs and bushes must be placed at curbside no later than 7am inorder to receive this service.

    Please do not cover sidewalks with yard waste.

    For Street Crew safety, Limbs and bushes  must not be longer than 7 feet or more than 7 inches in diameter.

    * Bags of leaves are excluded from this service.

    Summer schedule - This service will be available the first and third Monday of the month (holidays will delay service to the next day)

    RESOLUTION 2019-09: A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SOLICIT PROPOSALS FOR AN EXCLUSIVE SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL FRANCHISE AGREEMENT FROM SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT ENTITIES DESIRING TO DO BUSINESS WITHIN THE INCORPORATED LIMITS OF JOHNSON.

    RESOLUTION 2019-10: A RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING A PERSONNEL HANDBOOK FOR THE CITY OF JOHNSON, AND REPEALING RESOLUTION 2019-6 IN ITS ENTIRETY.

    ORDINANCE 2019-11: AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A MAXIMUM NUMBER OF VACATION DAYS FOR POLICE OFFICERS, A MAXIMUM PAYMENT OF VACATION UPON END OF TERM OF SERVICE OR RETIREMENT FOR POLICE OFFICERS, AND A SICK LEAVE ACCRUAL RATE FOR FIREFIGHTERS.

    ORDINANCE 2019-12: AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL ORDINANCE NOS. 2006-04, 2011-09, 2014-03, 2016-06, 2016-23, AND 2016-29 TO THE EXTENT THEY APPLY TO THE CITY OF JOHNSON PERSONNEL POLICES, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

    ORDINANCE 2019-13: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 14.04.11: ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORCEMENT OF CHAPTER 14.04: ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE JOHNSON MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORCEMENT, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 

    ORDINANCE 2019-14: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 14.04.06: CONDITIONAL USES OF CHAPTER 14.04: ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE JOHNSON MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING CONDITIONAL USES, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
