The City of Johnson Police Department is accepting applications for the following positions:

Sergeant Position

This supervisory position requires a dedicated, self-motivated person with strong personnel management/supervisory skill and experience. The ideal candidate must be able to identify and develop unique solutions to address problems as they arise, perform administrative duties and work in the field.

The position requirements are:

10 years LE experience or
10 years LE experience with BA/BS
2 years of Patrol Supervision (preferred)
FTO Certification (preferred)

Extensive background check, credit check, and drug screening is required before hire

The position starting range is $40,000 – $48,000 commensurate with experience and a complete benefits package of paid retirement, paid health insurance, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave.

POLICE OFFICER

The Johnson Police Department is also accepting applications for a state certified police officer and non-certified applicants. All applicants must pass a written test and a physical fitness test, before a job interview is given. This position offers a competitive starting wage of $16.35 non-certified to a max of $21.63 certified officers. The city also offers a complete benefits package of LOPFI retirement, paid health insurance, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave.
