Ordinance 2002-02

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE AMENDING OF ORDINANCE NO.
2001-1 FOR THE CITY OF JOHNSON, ARKANSAS; AMENDING THE
BUDGET FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 2001, AND ENDING
DECEMBER 31,2001; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City Council has been confronted with revenues and with expenses and
billing in excess of the amounts budgeted in Ordinance No. 2001-1; and,
WHEREAS, it Is the opinion of the City Council that the budget accepted in Ordinance
No. 2001 -1 requires an Amendment to make appropriations for additional monies to cover
expenses for the year 2001.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF JOHNSON,
ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the budget adopted by Ordinance No. 2001-1, which is known as the
Budget Ordinance for the City of Johnson, for the year 2001, which reflected an estimate of
revenues and expenditures, does not adequately meet the needs of the City of Johnson at the
present time. Exhibit "A" hereto reflects the budget contained in Ordinance No. 2001-1. Exhibit
"B" hereto reflects all changes necessary to enable the City of Johnson to adequately meet city
expenditure and appropriation needs to conduct business for 2001.
Section 2. The respective amounts in Exhibit "B," the amended budget, reflect changes
made in Exhibit "A." That the Exhibit "B" budget for 2001 is hereby approved by the City
Council of Johnson, Arkansas as an Amendment to Ordinance 2001-1.
Section 3. WHEREAS, it is necessary for the efficient operation of the municipal
government that the budget approved in Ordinance 2001-1 be amended to allow for the effective
running of the City of Johnson; now, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this
ordinance, made necessary for the preservation of public peace, health, and safety, shall take
effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
