AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.48 PERSONNEL POLICY, TITLE 2 OF THE JOHNSON MUNICIPAL CODE AND ADOPTING A NEW PERSONNEL POLICY

FOR THE CITY OF JOHNSON; AND OTHER MATTERS RELATED THERETO

 

WHEREAS, the Johnson Personnel Committee consists of Gerry Russell, Richard Duncan, Dan Cross, Hunter Haynes  and Jennifer Allen.

WHEREAS, the Johnson Personnel Committee has met on numerous occasions, completed many, many hours of research and investigation into State and Federal law on personnel issues, and diligently considered changes needed in the City of Johnson Personnel Handbook. 

WHEREAS, the attached City of Johnson Personnel Handbook of 2016 is the product of the Committee' s time, labor and efforts which comes to Council with the unanimous endorsement of the Committee. 

IT IS THEREFORE HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL  OF JOHNSON,  ARKANSAS, That: 

Section 1:      That Sections 2.48.01 and  2.48.02 of Chapter  2.48 Personnel  Policy, Title 2 of the Johnson Municipal Code, are hereby amended to read as  follows: 

"2.48.01 Adopted:  The document attached to Ordinance No. 2016-06   , entitled City of Johnson Personnel Handbook of 2016 is hereby adopted as the Personnel Policy for the City of Johnson, Arkansas, as regards all matters contained therein and shall be effective as to all employees hired by the City from and after the effective date of that Ordinance and effective as to all employees who receive a copy of the City of Johnson Personnel  Policy of 2016 and sign a Receipt to that effect. 

2.48.02 Repeal of Previous Versions/ Policies: From and after the effective date of Ordinance No. 2016-06, all previous versions  of  the  City  of  Johnson  Personnel Handbook are repealed and all personnel policies inconsistent  with the policies set forth  in  the  City  of  Johnson   Personnel   Policy  of  2016  are   repealed   to  the  extent of such in consistencies" .
