AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR FOR THE CITY OF
JOHNSON, ARKANSAS, TO PURCHASE A TRACTOR, BOX
SCRAPER AND BUSHOG; TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING,
TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS/ it has come to the attention of the City Council
for the City of Johnson/ Arkansas, that the Street Department is
currently without any equipment to service the roads, mow or
clean ditches;
WHEREAS, it is further found that they Johnson Street
Department is in need of purchasing a tractor, box scraper and
bush hog equipment, and the Street Department has requested they
be allowed to purchase the below described used property in that
the cost would result in a savings of approximately 10 thousand
dollars as compared to new equipment and it is the type of
equipment"' the operator is accustomed to using.

 

WHEREAS, the Johnson Street Department has located a:
1. Used International 385 Diesel Tractor with 35 PTO H.P.

410 hours , Power Steering, Independent P . T . 0 . Synchro
Transmission, Hydrolic Valve on Rear and New Koyker Quick
Loader with Bucket.

Purchase Price - $11,500.00

2. New 5 foot Box Scraper with teeth

Purchase Pirice - $315.00

3 . New 5 foot H . D . Bush hog 75 H.P. Gearbox with S lip
Clutch
Purchase Price - $900.00
NOW,. THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE

CITY OF JOHNSON, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: That the Johnson Mayor is hereby authorized
to purchase a:
1. Used International 385 Diesel Tractor with 35 PTO H.P.
410 hours , Power Steering, Independent P.T.O. Syncro
Transmission/ Hydrolic Valve on Rear and New Koyker Quick Attach
Loader with Bucket.
Purchase Price - $11,500.00
2. New 5 foot Box Scraper with teeth
Purchase Price - $315.00
3. New 5 foot H.D. Bush hog 75 H.P. Gearbox with Slip
Clutch
Purchase Price - $900.00
SECTION 2 : That the requirement of competitive bidding
is not feasible or practical for the reasons stated herein.
SECTION 3: EMERGENCY CLAUSE. It is hereby declared
that an emergency exists and this ordinance, being necessary for
the preservation of the health/ safety and welfare of the
citizens of Johnson, Arkansas, shall be in effect immediately
upon its passage, approval and publication.
