AN ORDINANCE TO REQUIRE LICENSED CONTRACTORS
TO CONSTRUCT ANY STRUCTURE LARGER THAN A TWO
FAMILY DWELLING OR ANY COMMERCIAL BUILDING,
TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY, AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Town Council for the Town of Johnson deems it
necessary to require only licensed contractors to construct
structures larger than two family dwellings or any commercial
buildings.
WHEREAS, it is determined to be in the best interest of the
citizens of the Town of Johnson to only allow licensed
contractors to build structures larger than two family dwellings
or commercial buildings.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF JOHNSON, ARKANSAS that;
SECTION ONE - LICENSING
All buildings or structures constructed within the Town of
Johnson for a commercial purpose or to house more than two
families can only be built by an Arkansas Licensed Contractor, no
matter who owns the land where the construction is to take place.
SECTION TWO - CONSTITUTIONALITY
If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of
this Ordinance is for any reason held to be unconstitutional,
such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions of this Ordinance.

SECTION THREE - VIOLATIONS AND PENALTIES
Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this
Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor f and, upon conviction
thereof/ shall be fined in any sum not less than twenty-five
dollars ( $25 . 00 ) nor more than two hundred fifty dollars
($250.00). Each day any such violation may continue shall be
deemed a separate offense..
SECTION FOUR - EMERGENCY CLAUSE
It is hereby declared that an emergency exists and that this
Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the health,
safety and welfare of the citizens of Johnson, Arkansas, become
effective immediately upon its passage, approval and publication.
