AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A MASTER STREET PLAN MAP, A
COMPREHENSIVE GROWTH PLAN MAP, AND AN OFFICIAL
ZONING MAP FOR THE CITY OF JOHNSON, ARKANSAS; TO
DECLARE AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City Council of Johnson, Arkansas deems it
necessary to have a Master Street Plan Map, a Comprehensive
Growth Plan Map, and an Official Zoning Map, to better cope with
increasing needs and insure quality development to keep pace in
growth; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council of Johnson, Arkansas has
determined that there is a need to establish certain maps to be
used as development guidelines.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
JOHNSON, ARKANSAS in regular session assembled as follows:
SECTION 1: The City of Johnson, Arkansas is hereby
divided into districts as shown on the Zoning Map, a copy of
which is attached hereto and marked "City of Johnson Official
Zoning Map" for reference, and which is hereby adopted as part of
this Ordinance. The Official Zoning Map shall be filed in the
office of the City Cleric.
SECTION 2: The City of Johnson, Arkansas hereby adopts a
Comprehensive Growth Plan Map, a copy of which is attached hereto
and marked "Town of Johnson Comprehensive Growth Plan Map" for

reference and which is hereby adopted as part of this Ordinance.
The Official Comprehensive Growth Plan Map shall be filed in the
office of the Town Clerk.
SECTION 3: The Town of Johnson, Arkansas hereby adopts a
Master Street Plan Map, a copy of which is attached hereto and
marked "City of Johnson Master Street Plan Map" for reference and
which is hereby adopted as part of this Ordinance. The Official
Master Street Plan Map shall be filed in the office of the Town
Clerk.
SECTION 4: It has been found and hereby declared by the
City Council of the City of Johnson, Arkansas in regular session
assembled, that this Ordinance is immediately required in order
to lesson congestion in the streets; to secure safety from fire
and other dangers; to promote healthful living conditions; to
provide adequate light and air; to prevent the overcrowding of
land and undue concentration of population; to stabilize property
values and to insure orderly development of the community for the
general welfare of the citizens.
SECTION 5: THEREFORE, an emergency is hereby declared to
exist and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of
the public peace, health, and safety shall be in full force and
effect from the date of its approval.
