ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 132 FOR
THE CITY OF JOHNSON, ARKANSAS;
PROVIDING FOR A REDUCTION IN THE SALARY
OF THE OFFICE OF TREASURER/RECORDER;
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

 

WHEREAS, Section 3 of Ordinance 132 sets the salary of the
Office of Treasurer/Recorder at the rate of $200.00 per month;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Johnson, Arkansas,
has determined, that due to a reduction in responsibilities and
duties that the compensation should be reduced accordingly.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF JOHNSON, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1.: That section (3) of Ordinance 132 dealing with
the compensation for the Office of Treasurer/Recorder be reduced
from the amount of $200.00 to $75.00 per month.
SECTION 2.: That all other provisions of Ordinance 132
shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3.: That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith, are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4.: WHEREAS, it is necessary for the efficient
administration of the municipal government, the City of Johnson,
that the city set the appropriate salaries for its employees and
elected officials.
THEREFORE, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this

ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public
peace, health and safety. This ordinance shall be in full-force
and effect from and after its passage and approval.
