AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 132 SECTION
3; SETTING THE PAT OF THE MAYOR TO THE CIT¥
OF JOHNSON, ARKANSAS; DECLARING AN
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the work required of the
office of the Mayor for the City of Johnson, Arkansas, is
extensive and additional compensation is needed in the form of a
raise in the monthly salary;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED and enacted by the Council of
the City of Johnson, state of Arkansas:
1. Section 1. That Section 3 of Ordinance 132 sets the
salary of the Mayor at $200.00 per month.
2. Section 2. That the portion of Section 3 of
Ordinance 132 is hereby amended changing the monthly rate of pay
from $200.00 per month to $ 800.00 per month effective
January l, 1996,
3 . Section 3. The official holding the office of Mayor
shall be paid at the monthly rate of $800.00 per month,
which is inclusive of both State and Federal Income tax and FICA
taxes.
4. Section 4. The officials holding the offices of
Treasurer/Recorder and Mayor shall be paid their monthly salary
effective January 1, 1996.
5 . Section 5. The annual salary of which was set by the
City Council for the office of Treasurer/Recorder and Mayor shall

be reviewed annually and any increases or decreases in said salary
shall be enacted by the City Council in the"annual budget for the
City of Johnson to be submitted by ordinance on or before February
1 of each successive year.

6. Section 6. Any ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
7. Section 7. An emergency is hereby declared to exist
and this ordinance being necessary for the health, safety, and
welfare of the citizens of Johnson, Arkansas, shall be in full
force and effect from the date of passage and approval.
