AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR BUILDING,

ELECTRICAL AND PLUMBING- FEES.

WHEREAS, there has been an increase in building construction and development

in the Town of Johnson, Arkansas, the transactions involving -which are

mounting daily: and

WHEREAS, there has resulted there from an increased burden of supervision

by said Town involving substantial cost; and

WHEREAS comptent supervision of such activities is essential to the

preservation of the public health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of

said Town;

SO, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL 0F THE TOWN OF

JOHNSON, ARKANSAS;

SECTION 1: Each applicant for a building permit in the Town of Johnson

shall tender with his application a fee for the permit, the fee to be

determined as follows:

Homes under 900 square feet, exclusive of garage and carport, unless

garage or carport is a separate building, shall be valued at 20.00 dollars

per square foot.

Homes over 900 square feet, exclusive of garage and carport, unless

garage or carport is a separate building, shall be valued at E.,00 dollars

per square foot.

A commercial building shall be valued at 10.00 dollars-.per square foot,

The inspection fee shall be determined as follows:

The Chief Inspector shall, on a regular basis, remit to the

Town the funds coming into his hands through or by reason of permits

issued or inspections made by, from or through his office.

SBCTION 2: Each application for a permit to install electrical

wires and appliances shall be made at the Office of the Chief Inspector

between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00p.m. The permit fee shall

be a minimum of ^3.50 which covers contract or work up to and including

#300.00 cost and an additional $1.00 for each §100.00 above

the §300.00 contract or job cost. The following fees shall be paid

to the Chief Inspector for inspection of the contract of job cost:

LIGHTS: $3.50 minimum, 10 openings or less; 10

cents each for the next 15 openings; 5

cents each for each additional opening.

MOTORS: §3.50 minimum for 5 horsepower of under;

25 cents for each additional horsepower

over 5; not to exceed §6.50 per inspection.

SECTION 3: Section 1 Inspection fee shall be as follows:

Service line from the water meter to the building, -32.50 and 51.00

for each outlet; sewer service, $2.50; septic tank, 32.50 and percolation

test, if made by the Chief Inspector, shall be -§12.00.

Minimum inspection fee for plumbing' of a home shall be §15,00 for

new construction and $7.50 for existing home improvement.
