ORDINANCE NO. 33 AN ORDINANCE CONTROLLING ANIMALS AND FOWLS WITHIN
THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF JOHNSON, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, the owners of various animals and fowl have to a
certain degree permitted animals and fowls to run at large in the
City of Johnson; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Johnson, Arkansas,
has determined that it would be to the best interests of the
citizens and residents of the City of Johnson to control the running
at large of animals and fowls within the corporate limits of the
City of Johnson;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF
JOHNSON, ARKANSAS:
SECTION ONE: It shall be unlawful for any person, firm
or corporation to permit or allow any animal or fowl to
run at large within the corporate limits of the City of
Johnson except on lands zoned agricultural or upon lands
 being put to agricultural use and purposes, which lands
are considered by the Mayor and the City Council to be
non-confirming uses.
SECTION TWO: It shall be unlawful for any person to keep
or harbor any animal which by loud, frequent or habitual

barking , howling, yelping or other noise or action disturbs
any person or neighborhood within the corporate limits of the
City of Johnson.
SECTION THREE: It shall be unlawful to keep or harbor any
cat or dog over five months of age within the corporate
limits of the City of Johnson without such cat or dog having
a current vaccination against rabies performed by a veterinarian
Rabies vaccination is hereby considered current for twelve months
from the day of vaccination.

SECTION FOUR: Any person, firm or corporation violating
the terms of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor
and shall be fined in a sum not less than Twenty-Five Dollars
($25.00) nor more than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00), and each
day's violation shall be considered a separate offense.
SECTION FIVE:. This Ordinance shall be declared severable,
and if any section, paragraph, sentence or clause of said Ordinance
shall be declared unconstitutional, such unconstitutional portion
of said ordinance shall not affect the remaining portions thereof.
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, approval, publication and recording of a
certified copy thereof in the office of the Circuit Clerk and
Ex-Officio Recorder of Washington County.
