AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE PERSONNEL POLICY
OF CITY OF JOHNSON, ARKANSAS, TO REQUIRE
PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS OF EMPLOYEES OF
JOHNSON POLICE DEPARTMENT

 

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 65, adopted March 12, 1983, established

a Personnel Policy for the City of Johnson, Arkansas; and
WHEREAS, it is In the best interest that the same be amended
to require that the employees of the Johnson Police Department
submit to annual physical examinations,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF
JOHNSON, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1: The City Council recognizes the need for all employees of
Johnson Police Department to have an annual physical examination.
SECTION 2: From this day forward, all salary or paid employees of
the Johnson Police Department shall be required to submit to an annual
physical examination. Such examination shall be given by a physician
approved by the City Council and the costs of the examination shall be
entirely at the expense of the City of Johnson.
SECTION 3: From this day forward, all voluntary employees of
the Johnson Police Department may also be required to-submit to an
annual physical examination, at the descretion of the Johnson City
Council. The costs of such examination shall be entirely at the.
expense of the City of Johnson.
SECTION 4: The results of the above mentioned physical examinations
shall be given to the mayor and/or members of the Johnson City Council
within thirty (30) days after the examination.
SECTION 5; The City Clerk shall be responsible for having the
contents and requirements of this Ordinance codified and added to
the Personnel Policy of City of Johnson, Arkansas, the same being
attached to and incorporated in Ordinance 65.
SECTION 6; It is hereby declared that an emergency exists and this
ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the health, safety

and welfare of the citizens of Johnson, Arkansas, shall become effective
immediately upon it's passage and approval.
