AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY
THE CITY OF JOHNSON, ARKANSAS,
AN INCORPORATED TOWN

 

WHEREAS, the City of Johnson is an incorporated town, and;
WHEREAS, a Petition was filed in the County Court of Washington
County, Arkansas, requesting that certain hereafter described/real
estate lying adjacent and contiguous to the City of Johnson^oe. annexed
to the City of Johnson, Arkansas, and:
WHEREAS, notice of hearing was given and a hearing held pursuant
to the Orders of said Court, and;
WHEREAS, no one having protested said annexation within the
time allowed by law, said Court did enter its Order on November 15,
1985, annexing said lands to the City of Johnson, Arkansas, said
Order being recorded in Book 1, at page 543 , and;
WHEREAS, such order has been filed with the City Clerk of the
City of Johnson, Arkansas.
SECTION I: The following described real estate, lying and
situate in Washington County, Arkansas, is hereby declared annexed
and duly incorporated into the City of Johnson, Washington County,
Arkansas:
Part of Sections Fifteen (15), Sixteen (16), Twenty-one (21)
and Twenty-two (22) in Township Seventeen (17) North, of
Range Thirty (30) West, and being more particularly described
as follows, to-wit: Beginning at the Northeast Corner of
the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 22,
Township 17 North, Range 30 West, and running thence East
along the Section line to a point where Johnson Road
intersects with said section line; thence in a Northeasterly
direction along Johnson Road to where said road intersects
with the East line of Section 15, Township 17 North,
Range 30 West; thence North along said East line to a
point where said East line intersects with the South
line of Woodland Heights No. 1 a Subdivision to the City
of Springdale; thence West along said Southern line of
said subdivision to a point where said line intersects
with the East line of Woodland Heights South, a subdivision
to the City of Springdale; thence South along said East line
of said subdivision to the Southeast Corner of said subdivision;
thence West along the South line of said subdivision to
the Southwest Corner of said subdivision; thence North
along the West line of the following subdivisions: Woodland
Heights South, Woodland Heights No. 2, Woodland Heights
No.3 and Woodland Heights No. 4, to where said West line of
said last mentioned subdivision intersects with the North
line of the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of
said Section 15; thence West along said North line to the
Northwest Corner of said 40 acre tract; thence North along
the East line of the Southeast Quarter of the Northwest
Quarter of said Section 15 to the Northeast Corner of said
40 acre tract; thence West along the North line of said 40
acre tract to the Northwest Corner of said 40 acre tract;
thence South along the West line of said 40 acre tract to
the Southwest Corner of said 40 acre tract; thence South
along the West line of the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest
Quarter of said Section 15 to the Southwest Corner of said'
40 acre tract; thence West along the said North line of the
Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 15 to

the Northwest Corner of said 40 acre tract; thence West
along the North line of the South Half of the South Half of
Section 16, Township 17 North, Range 30 West to the Northwest
Corner of said 160 acre tract; thence South with the West
line of said 160 acre tract to the Southwest Corner of said
160 acre tract; thence South along the West line of Section
21, Township 17 North, Range 30 West to a point where said
West line intersects with Clear Creek; thence in an Easterly
direction along Clear Creek to a point where Clear Creek
intersects with the existing boundary line of the City of
Johnson City limits; thence North by Northeasterly along
said City limits line to a point where said boundary line
intersects with Great House Springs Road; thence Southeasterly
along said road to a point where it intersects with the East
line of the West Half of the Northwest Quarter of Section
22, Township 17 North, Range 30 West; thence North along
said East line to the Northeast Corner of the Northwest
Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 22 being
the point of beginning.

 

SECTION II: That the plat of said territory attached to
certified copies of the Order of Annexation is hereby declared to be
the plat of said annexed territory and to the City of Johnson,
Washington County, Arkansas.
SECTION III: That all of the inhabitants of .said annexed
territory are hereby declared to be citizens of Johnson, Arkansas,
and. entitled to all rights, privileges, and benefits thereunto
pertaining.
SECTION IV; That said real estate is hereby declared to be
zoned A (agricultural) to the city of Johnson, Washington County,
Arkansas, and shall remain in Zone A until such time as the city
rezones such territory.
SECTION V: This Ordinance shall take effect from and after
its approval, passage and publication according to Law. APPROVED
AND PASSED this 10 day of December , 1985.
