Chief WoodsChief Wayne Woods’ home is Little Rock, Arkansas. He began his Law Enforcement career in Georgia in 1996 and has served in rank as Patrolman, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain and Chief.   Additionally, he has served as Criminal Investigations Commander, Internal Affairs, SWAT Commander, Patrol Supervisor, Narcotic Supervisor, and Administrative Supervisor and is a Firearms and General Instructor. Chief Woods has a degree in Business Administration; has completed Level III Supervision and Management Certification and has completed the Georgia Association of Chief of Police (GACP) Chief Executive School.  With over 2100 hours of law enforcement training, Chief Woods maintains his philosophy of continual education and is currently completing a degree in Criminal Justice. He is a member of the Arkansas Association of Chiefs of Police.

Chief Woods has helped teach young adults about the dangers of gangs and drugs and started a mentorship program with juveniles while in detention to help them to understand they have a brighter future for them to achieve.

Chief Woods served in the U.S. Army, (enlisted) as a combat medic and later joined the Georgia State Defense Force and retired at the rank of Major.  During which time, he enrolled in the Marine Corps Institute attending the non-resident program completing the Marine Corps Amphibious Warfare School. He obtained an Honorable Discharge from both tours of service.
